We present a modular gas detection system based on serial communication, with a high degree of versatility, so that it can be installed according to the customer's needs, from a small automatic installation of a few sensors to its integration in large systems with numerous sensors and actuation levels.
For its integration in complex systems, it incorporates standard industrial communication protocols, initially modbus rtu, modbus tcp/ip or profinet.
The complete system can be formed by up to 4 levels of hierarchy:
SCADA
In very complex systems with a large number of devices, the control and monitoring function usually falls to some type of SCADA, which are computer applications that allow the simultaneous display, recording and/or control of a large number of signals. Depending on needs, they may be remotely accessible via the internet (WEB SCADA) or access may be restricted locally (plant SCADA).
MODBUS
MASTERS
Equipment with MODBUS input protocol for connection to higher level devices such as SCADA or plant PLC.
FIDEGAS®
MASTERS
Equipment with proprietary protocol (Fidegas® series) as input and some kind of industrial standard as output protocol. They will be used to connect a certain number of Fidegas® slaves to an industrial communication BUS and level 3 or 4 equipment. Depending on the needs of the installation to connect directly to level 4 equipment, in some cases they will have executive power and can become an autonomous system with external monitoring.
FIDEGAS®
SLAVES
Consisting of sensors for different gases, actuator module (MC-ACT), cutting mushrooms, etc.
There are other types of devices that complement those already written.
Complement: Device that integrates into the FIDEGAS® serial bus but does not have its own address or protocol.
Equipment: MC-MOD-P gateway
Gateway: Device that translates one type of industrial protocol into another type of protocol. It will normally be installed for the integration of FIDEGAS® masters in fieldbuses other than the ones they incorporate.
Equipment: MC-ETH-P.
